FAST Key door handle touch sensor
FAST Key door handle touch sensor
So... am I missing something here? I've seen lots of threads that refer to the interior side of the door handle having a touch sensor to unlock. My car doesn't have that or at least doesn't respond that way. I have to use the button for unlock/lock. Press twice to unlock all doors. Did something change in the newer models maybe?

Yeah, it was only the 2008. I had a 2008 and loved that feature. I dislike that the my new 2013 doesn't have it. Not really a big deal, but it was a nice feature on the 2008.
I suppose that if someone really really wanted that feature on a 2010-2013, they could buy the door handles for the front doors from a 2008 and install them. There would likely be some kind of programming needed by the dealer for it to recognize your FAST key, but it would probably work.

For about $315 it looks like all you would need to buy are the outside door handles (left & right). It's item #1 in the diagram and you scroll down to find the version with FAST key. All the other parts in this diagram are the same as the 2013 model, other than the outside door handles.

I'm not sure if it's really that simple, but seems it would be.

Good info for anyone that really wants to do this. It doesn't bother me enough to want to change door handles lol. It's simple enough for me to grab the door handle, hit the button with my thumb, and open the door. Curious as to why it was removed though, I'd hope it was something more than cost but we are talking about Mitsubishi here.
