E85 for 650whp

Newbie here.

I know a lot about GTR's ..Trying to learn about these evo x's

I owned a 09 GTR making 840whp on E85.. car ran 9.5s@151 in Las vegas..Car was sold last month and I picked up a nice looking evo x.

I called Cobb in CA ..they said running 2000cc + injectors WILL not run smooth.. car will drive a little rough. Anyone here have a formula for running large injectors on E85 and perfect drivability? stand alone?? My GTR ran soooo smooth on E85.

IF i cant get a smooth running car i will have it tuned on 100octane and prob keep the car at 575whp .. i really love E85 (3.29 a gallon)..

here is the info on it from the seller...

By "near stock", do you mean "reliable"? I'm no expert but anything over 500 hp to me and it seems like you're kin of throwing reliability out the window.

And this is just me, but I was always kind of hesitant about buying a car that has already been modded, let alone built. Either way, good luck with everything

I didn't have any problems with big injectors on my old X. It had an ETS 6262 kit and a full build. On ethanol it drove perfectly (minus the lag for DD). I don't know if it was due to the fact that I tune my own cars and nit picked it or not, but it was fine. I actually liked the way that the 2150's ran so much, that I ran them on a stock turbo/motor setup on my 8 until I reached my goals for that configuration. I also just did an SD tune on another 8 with 2150s on his pump gas, stock turbo (for now) configuration, and everything drives just fine for him as well.

For the fuel system on my X I ran:
FIC 2150s
Buschur Double Pumper
Boomba fuel rail

Hopefully this helps

Did you have issues with emptying the fel basket or fuel starvation with the Buschur DP when under half tank?

For a turbo as big as the one in that car, running E85 will not be a problem with 2000cc injectors. It may be a problem if you ever decide to switch back to pump gas though

I tuned it at just above a quarter tank to help minimize variation, so I didn't really notice any starvation. On pump they ran fine, on the 6262, and like I mentioned about the 8 that I tuned running pump on them using the car as a DD

I think the issue is the cobb tuning ability. I will be talking to Mitch@ cobb in CA tomorrow..

If he thinks it will run rough.. I will just get a tune for 100 and call it a day.

I would like a 130 trap on 100

Talk to Bakaunchi on the forum..(Jon Drenas). He has those same injectors on Marlo's car running about 700+ on e85.. Smooth as it will get drivability wise.

There's nothing "near stock" about that car, hehe. Built engine, aftermarket (and not stock frame) turbo, etc. There definitely are people that properly dial in 2000cc injectors to be able to drive around town without stalling though.

Yah, if it's a tuning problem with Cobb, just hit up some of the e-tuners like Hollywood_x or BakaUnchi and see what they have to say
