ETS High Flow Cat vs ETS Test Pipe

I'm putting a EST quiet V2 on my stock Evo 13 w\grim3 and pro tuned.
but I can't make up my mind if i should go HFC or test pipe.
Is performance and sound the same?

My understanding is the test pipe will give you a little more hp but will be louder. The HFC will give you a little less hp but not be as loud. Don't quote me on this though

this is guy is right. And the ETS Quiet Exhaust is NOT "quiet" with the test pipe. Trust me. If you don't want anything loud, don't get the Testpipe

Instead of the the HFC, you should consider a resonated test pipe instead. Same performance as a normal test pipe ( both are straight through inside) but the the car won't be as loud. I just changed my ETS tp for the AMS resonated tp due to the drone.

If you swap from TP to resonated TP do you need to get retuned?

No, as long as the pipe is the same size inside (and it should be).

So which set-up is typically quieter, a resonated test pipe or a HFC?

Do resonated test pipes really knock out the drone like a stock resonator?

Thanks for the help.

From my experience swapping between a Speed Circuit HFC and Test Pipe with ETS Quiet, there is no appreciable difference in performance or sound/volume. Its always loud and always fast so pick whatever makes you happy

Pretty much what Kendogg said, TP equals more power. Most of the guys running HFC are usually doing it because of restrictive emissions in their state(s).

If all you are doing is a cat back exhaust, then you don't need a test pipe. Get the HFC because the power you will make will be about the same. My HFC even passed CA tail pipe sniffer smog test.

You only need the test pipe when you are going for much bigger power with tons of mods.
