1st to 2nd

Hey Guys, its been a day since I've got my 2014 GSR. I love it. Only problem I've noticed is that sometimes when I want to shift from 1st to 2nd, the shifter gets stuck for some reason and I have to wait like a second before it lets me into 2nd. Weird and it has happened twice now. I don't beat on the car or anything just normal transition to 2nd. Any ideas? I'm new to EVOs so i don't know much. I have 100 miles on it currently

The X has issues when it comes to shifting. Most people complain about notchy gears between 1-4. 95% of evos suffer from this..

Seems normal to me. Mine has been doing that for the past 2k+ Miles from 1st to 2nd then to 3rd. I now have about 3.5kmiles on it and it feels some what normal now. I don't get that notchyness all that often anymore. I don't beat on my car. The life of owning an Evo X I guess. lols

it may be your driving habits. my 08 gsr shift smoothly 1-2. when it's cold and the tranny isn't warmed up, the 2-3 grinds without the little trick however.

Mine had a little stick between 1st and 2nd when i got mine and didn't worry about it to much. Then I did some work to the car and ended up putting the TWM short shifter with the full base and shifter bushings and it totally fixed the problem and it is fun with the short shifter. The full kit is about $500 bucks if you wanna spend the money but it definitely fixed the problem.

Maybe a driveline fluid change would help?

This package will solve your problems, you won't find a better shifting X GSR transmission after you install this: http://www.maperformance.com/krackas...shi-evo-x.html

Whats the difference between getting 3 MT-85 or getting 1 MT-90 and 2 MTL?

The cocktail is a closer match to the factory spec and is what I recommend in colder climates with a true winter. In the warmer climates, like Texas, the MT85 has a smoother feel.

I found it feels better after a while.. let it break in a for a thousand or two miles first.

Like others have said, the "redline cocktail" tranny fluid supposedly makes a huge difference. Weighted shift knob may also help dampen out the notchiness.

Get base bushings for the shifter too! Reduces the play in the shift significantly
