I'm a 10 year former Finance, Sales, then General Sales manager for another brand. The lease they are offering right now smokes any payment purchase you could find IMO. The residual is solid and the money factor is as cheap as I have ever seen, nearly 0% in comparison to a interest rate. ( its a yield, not an interest rate, but we wont go into that). (0% purchase is only for 36 mo. = large payment, same car and I know I change cars every 2-3 years any way modded or not so I get a cheap payment and let mitsu worry about the residual / resale depreciation)

As for mods, break her in a little and bolt ons and go for it imo! Drop in filter $15-25 used, used DP $150 ish, used HFC 150 ish, 3" CBE $350-$500, and a reflash/cobb $500ish = fun for around $1300 imo. Sell the parts when done or just buy the car for the residual.

I just leased a 14 GSR myself, offer was so cheap I couldn't pass up on a fun car like this. 2 yr, 12,000 miles.

if it helps you find a starting point I went with ETS Intake, Grimmspeed 3 port, turbo back exhaust and then a dyno tune. you will be over the 1000$ mark but it will make the car so much more fun, I promise.

OK, so you are 18 leasing a ~$40K car and you want to mod it a bit. Plans are to keep it after lease most likely - or so I read into your posts anyways.

I can dig that. I do have a word of caution though based on how much your life can change at that age (experience talking). It may or may not apply to your life so feel free to ignore me - just know it's meant in good will.

I would say COBB Accessport 1st -> enjoy the bump in performance.

Want more? Add COBB supported Stage 2 and later Stage 3 parts to unlock more power with their pre-made maps. (this also allows you to stage out your $ spending since your beginning budgets is around $700)

Jump forward 2 years.....

Lease ends - worst case - uh oh can't buy car! -> use Cobb AP to flash back to stock and remove bolt ons before turn in. Hopefully no harm no foul and easy reversal to stock.

Lease ends - best case - Heck yeah I got $ to buy this beast! -> Buy car and continue modding and get COBB Pro Tune done by a certified shop as you add parts outside of the premade stages.

Just my advice. You never know what the future holds might even win the lottery and leave us to start posting on the Ferrari forums

Enjoy your MR - I love mine and its still stock (for now)

Hey I don't know if anyone mentioned this yet or not but one of the first two things you want to do is SSP Transmission cooler, this way you SST will have some extra cooling and if you haven't yet I would get a AEM CAI. With the MR cooling should always be your priority.

Also at some point in the future I would upgrade the transmission at Jack Transmission but you don't have to worry about that until you start itching for more power.

So far I've got a 3 port, a drop in and I'm getting a tune by Baka. Looks like I'm getting a cooler next

Unless you are taking your car to the track every weekend, there is no need for a SSP Transmission Cooler. I live in Texas where the temps are well over the 100's and I drive hard, since I have had my MR here, I have never ever once experienced any need for a Trans Cooler. Not to mention I am running a COBB Stage 2 and haven't done anything to my Transmission other than change out the fluids at every other oil change. So, I think that the above recommendation is unfounded.

Also, If you mod out a lease and you only have 12,000 miles a year for 2 years or whatever, its not like you will be driving around a lot, where if your just going back and forth to school then your best bank for buck. First year I had my car I put 22,000 miles on it with trips to Florida and Texas and Georgia from when I lived in DC for ball games that I played in cause to me its way more fun to drive the car than be stuck on a plane for hours on end. My .02 to the guys statement about distaste for a lease options.
