Need help buying advice!

Hey guys looking to purchase a used 08evo mr. It has 53k miles and they are asking for 25k for it. Is it worth it or do u think I can do better than that. Also what are some of the known issues I should be looking for. I am going to DD this for work and I go about 50miles a day RT. thanks again!

^ Agreed, I put down a significant amount on mine and financed the rest and I have a $350 a month payment which isnt too bad for a brand new X with 1 mile on it and the peace of mind that nobody else has modded it!

no the most it should go for is 16.9 or 17.5k you can get as an x from a frigate party for 25k used with less miles since the economy is bill for now.

I am putting down about 4000. Financing the rest. I can't seem to find any used evos around my area with low miles. Most of ones ive been seeing are around 28k-32k..

Do you mean you have just bought an Evo X? Because usually used cars don't get financed. If so, welcome to the club!

Depends on the equipment fr one thing. But, to let you know, at the dealership I work for I sold a 2008 MR with HIDs and Rockford with 70k on it for 25k. But also keep in mind, we fixed two of the 3 know issues for the 08s. The ACD pump, just the part, is lke $1500 our cost.

Secondly, known issues for 2008s:

-Timing chain streching. This can fixed with an updated timing chain.

-ADC Pumps. Depending on whether you live in a cold climate, this may or may not be an issue for you. The ACD pumps were known to go back. They can be reprogrammed at a dealer. If it hasn't already gone bad/been replaced, make sure it's been reprogrammed!

-Rear diff pins. This is really only an issue if you launch the **** out of your car. This also has an updated part.

I would try to pay for a brand new one! I seen a new GSR for 33K why not go for new if you can afford it!

This

Don't know how many times it was mentioned but buying a used evo is like buying a used pair of socks. Buying a used evo with 53k miles is like buying a used condom.

Not everyone has $33k+ to drop on a vehicle. You can find plenty of 2010+ models out there for thousands less than new - just have to be picky about it.

I've never purchased a new car, ever.

I agree but at the same time for the same amount of money you could invest into a 2011 or so. You have to admit it's not safe buying a five year old evo.
