Should I buy the 2010 MR for 29k?
Should I buy the 2010 MR for 29k?
Hey guys my first time posting here. I never had an EVO and been wanting one for the last 5 years
. Anyway I saw one at my local Lexus dealer, a 2010 Evo X MR w/ navigation and listed for 29k (obo). I test drove it, my gf didn't like the ride
. The engine has 49k miles on it and I got the carfax report and it seems to be up to date in maintenance from the original owner (1 owner).
So my question is it a good buy or should I wait for another month and ask for huge discount $23k-24k. Considering the miles is a little high for a 3 year old car. I currently have a civic as my daily so this would be my weekend toy

Buy it and trade me the NAV for my radio plus cash on my end.
See i just made the deal worth it!
Jokeing aside, check the hell out of the car.
If possible let someone that knows EVO's check it out.
GL!

I bought my 10 MR with 35k miles for 32k with every option except nav, granite everything is more here in Alaska so 29k seems like a good deal to me. The miles are a little high but it could have been a commuter or something.
ill sell you my 2013 GSR, with SSSL package, 32k - 3k miles

Thanks for the input guys
. I know the asking price seems to be a good deal. My sales guy called me today if the car is still in the parking lo by next month they would give me even better deal. The color is WW just like i want it. My only concern lies in the highway mileage. I mean at 50k means I will probably have to put major maintenance up very soon. But if the price is right....who knows. Maybe i will finally join EVO family here

I think that you should look into getting an EVO 8-9. I got my first evo 8 a year ago, it only had 8000 miles on it and i paid 27k for it. It was sitting with 500hp to the wheels. I think that you can get a better deal you just have to look around. That just my opinion tho.
If you're going to "wait for a big discount" you're just asking for an arbitrary amount of money off the car for no logical reason. There's a bunch of different sites out there that will tell you exactly what to pay for a car, and they're generally with in a few hundred bucks of each other. Don't try to negotiate just simple for the sake of negotiating. It makes you look like a fool.
I bought a used 2010 Lancer Evolution MR, Graphite Gray, 17,000 miles, all stock except aftermarket inter cooler, blow off valve and a very very quite exhaust for $29,998.00
I traveled to a Chrysler Dealership in Valencia, California (down the street from Six Flags Magic Mountain) from San Diego.
Car came with Navigation, Leather Recaros, and Rockford Fosbate Subwoofer. I also got an extended warranty through the dealership.
The gentleman who owned before was in his late 30s early 40s who made 6 figures. Don't know why he had an Evo. The car was also on a 2 year lease through Mitsubishi prior to being traded at the Chrysler dealership.
I came from a 2010 Honda Civic so this was a huge upgrade for myself.
Car runs fine so either I got an excellent deal or its minor modification history could of influenced the final price.

The first thing you need to do is check with your local Mitsu. dealer (or a trusted local Evo Shop) what the upcoming service (50k? 60k?) is going to cost. Then you can that decide if that impending expense is going to be a deal breaker.
MR 50k is quite pricey, due to the SST fluid. Others are still the same as a GSR when it comes to the maintenance. That price seems to be good, you could ask for a grand off or at least try to get something out of the deal. If financing, have them add the registration/sales tax (keep the APR in mind, unless you have extra cash you dont mind spending instead of payment + apr).
Another MAJOR thing that most people dont realize is the insurance. Get the Vin Number and go to a insurance broker (they can see every single company out there and you pick the best rate). Insurance + payments might break your bank since the insurance is actually quite high. Yes, everyone has a different story with it but generally speaking... Other high performance vehicles have a higher rate of insurance than Evos.
