I wouldn't go MR if you want torque (or have lot of money) it takes a bunch of money to make the SST torque compatible.

I have a DD ranger pickup that hardly ever gets driven due to it being so more much fun driving the evo.

i know this is a little off topic, but what grade oil do you use in your car with number of mileage on it

I DD'ed until I got a new job and my commute increased by 25 miles. Fuel consumption was the only downside for me

I have always used Mobile 1 Synthetic 5w-30, changed every 5000 miles. K&N high performance oil filter with the metal screen particulate filter. I took an oil sample into work once and our oil analysis expert said I probably could have gone another 5000 miles because it was hardly broken down any, and all chemicals in the oil were well within spec.

Do you replace the filter every oil change?

Yes. It is the K&N HP1010. On looking again at K&N's website, maybe this one doesn't have the stainless mesh filter. It is a synthetic material.

Haven't even had the first oil change on my GSR yet but I can say that other than the serious increase in my fuel budget and insurance I would choose the evo over any other car I've driven to date. Yes it's stiffer than, say, a jaguar xj6, but next to my old RSX with skunk2 coilovers and polly mounts it's a freakin dream.

The X is my commuter car. My 2 way commute is about 20 miles w/ little traffic so it's not that bad. Coming from a GTI mk6 which easily averages around 27-28 mpg, the gas mileage in the Evo sucks. I average about 17-20 with the Evo. That robs a couple hundred extra from my monthly expense and more frequent gas station visits.

I DD a MR. Nothing that would make it worse at being a DD than any other car out there other than you just know how *****en' it is when there is no traffic.

the TC-SST's other bonus is having a 6th gear. I understand that the GSR (5spd) has a drone when just cursing at highway speeds. (And of course improved gas mileage.) This was one of the reasons I went MR ... also I can LOL every time i hear Clarkson saying "Flappy paddle" in my head.

If you commute in some heavy traffic area, get an X MR with Dual Clutch plus paddle shifters, smooth yet lightning fast =) Perfect for both DD and track attack lol.

Thanks a million. I'm at 67000 miles and was wondering which grade would be the best. So I can try the 5 30 and not the 20 50
