I work for a dealers that used to be a Suzuki dealer. When someone wanted a Kizashi with X, Y and Z options in a certain color that we didn't already have, the response was "Well, might be able to find you one. If we can't, would _____ do?" With Mitsubishi the WORST case is we our regional rep and say "Hey Damian, we need X, Y, Z, car. Please order it for us in our next cycle." 3-4 months later it shows up.

Suzuki the parents company, and manufacturer was rumored looking in to buying a plant here in the US so that it could meet market demands. When Suzuki announced that it would not be purchasing a US plant, ASMC folded.

Mistubishi parent company is a very large infustructure consisting of investments throughout many industries. However, each of its "companies" has a responsibility to hold its own and not become a burden on its counterparts. If pulling out the US makes economic sense then they'll do it.
Id be very interested to see what direction Mitsu takes.

Mitsu has indeed invested money back into the US in the last 6 months. From what I've read and been told, Suzuki going out of business gave a shot in the arm.

They invested in a new plant in the US, are advertising more than they ever have, and sales are picking up.

Articles have claimed was going to leave the US since the early 2000s, nothing new here.
