The downpipe install on the X is tedious. A lot of the cheaper parts have fitment issues due to poor quality control. I would be careful on parts like this.

If you get a chance.

Check out our site.

http://www.extremeturbosystems.com

we have 2 downpipes to choose from.

1.) Recirculated Downpipe

2.) Atmosphere Dump Downpipe.

Both will net similar results on the stock turbocharger. The Atmosphere dump downpipe will be considerably louder under wide open throttle conditions.

If you have any questions, let me know!

Thanks,

Michael

Do you want to be super loud at WOT? If yes, buy atmosphere (aka open dump, o2 dump, etc)
At normal cruising throttle, it'll be similar as recirculating downpipe.

I believe it's all to help the exhaust gases create less turbulence when exiting through the exhaust system and wastegate. I don't know the technical details about it or if it makes a major difference. I'm an Evo newbie myself, so take that with a grain of salt.

EDIT: Here's a helpful thread. https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/ev...circulate.html

That's exactly correct. It is also why, if you stay with a system where the exhaust going through the wastegate ends up in the main system, the longer the tube on the wastegate, the better.

The only other issue to mention is whether you ever do something like autocross. Even in the "highest" classes (e.g., Street Mod in SCCA), none of the exhaust can be dumped under the car.

I would get the recirculated downpipe. No crazy increase in noise and you won't have any problems at the track or road coarse due to noise levels.
