Evo X or 8/9 for daily driver?
I know what you were getting at, but you need to remember on the GSR there is no Touring package, it's only called that on the MR. For the GSR, it's called the SL package, which must be added on top of the SS package, therefore SS+SL package.

I have the 2014 Evo X GSR and have been DD'ing for about 2 months now. Once I got use to the ride stiffness (compared to typical commuter casrs) it's been a great daily driver. I find the seats to be really comfortable, but I don't have a long ride to work (≈20 minutes).
If you are willing to buy new, the 2014 GSR even comes with the touchscreen display and built-in bluetooth as part of the standard package. Definitely a nice bonus for daily driving.

My experience from having owned a VIII and now an X relating to daily driveability:
X pros - Cruise control, better standard electronics, feels slightly more maneuverable in a parking lot.
8/9 pros - Better mileage, lower RPM highway cruise, bigger trunk (not a huge difference if the spare tire is removed from an X)
It's really up to you and what your normal usage is like.
