drop-in filters
drop-in filters
Noob question but are drop in filters even worth it? I'm looking for some small mods for my 08' MR before I do anything expensive. Would something as simple as an intake or air filter require a tune?
I have a 2010 mr. For me I went with the injen setup. For me to do a drop in with the intention of doing more mods wasn't worth it, but only because I knew u was going to change the intake and intercooler piping later. If your looking from a view of you want a washable filter rather than a crappy paper only from dealer and the price is good go for it. I try to do mods where I'm not buying a related part over again. Also check some of the guys here on used parts. You may find a really good deal. But once again it helps to know how far do you want to go with enhancements and mods.
Yeah I wouldn't do a drop in if you plan on doing future mods. Just bite the bullet and grab yourself a CIA since you'll end up doing it down the road.
To answer your question an air filter won't "require" a tune, but honestly even bone stock evo's could use a tune because they run extremely rich from the factory.
