The tips we use are polished stainless steel. You may get some surface rust from standing water, but the tips can be polished back to their natural shine. This is the reason we went with stainless steel tips instead of mild steel chrome coated tips.

The problem with chrome tips is they eventually flake and rust. Our stainless tips should turn a vibrant gold hue from the heat. Just like a polished exhaust manifold.
