In regards the new X Re-flash and the Flash Counter
So I've been searching and searching and I can't seem to find any concrete proof that there is in fact a Flash Counter in the new EVO X tune. Just a bunch of people saying there might be, or we'll find out soon if there is. I'm considering letting Mitsubishi re-flash the new tune so in case there is a day I need something fixed under warranty, they won't void me because I didn't get the recommended Re-flash, and because I live in Snowy Canada, it might be a good idea to get this done before my AYC inevitably goes.
I have the Cobb AP v.3 and I use the OTS maps from them but was wondering if I get the re-flash and then flash back Cobbs OTS maps, if ever I go back to Mitsu and there in fact is a flash counter and they notice I've flashed my ECU after they did, is there an excuse I can use to say why the ECU was re-flashed? Can I say that I had my car parked for a very long time and so I unhooked the battery? Or could there be a reason why another shop might have plugged into my ECU and made it show a re-flash?
Are there any excuses that Mitsu may find feasible to why my ECU was re-flashed because of my Cobb AP?

I'm fairly certain I've read on this site, from members that claim to work for, or have worked for, Mitsubishi, and they say there IS a counter.
I would say it's safer to assume there is a counter even if there isn't, or you don't believe there is one, and consider your warranty void if you have an aftermarket tune done.

Let's just say I work for a company that owns a mitsu dealer. Had warranty work done I simply uninstalled my ap. and no traces or flash counter on the mut was found. End of story it's a myth.
Hm. Do I listen to you or Tephra? That's a tough call. Not.

Looks like there is a lot of back and forth on this debate here. Is there any type of agreed upon answer on this yet as to whether they can tell if it's been flashed? I want to get AP for my 2014 MR but if they can tell then it seems like its not worth it cause I don't want to void my warranty
I do a lot of warranty submissions for Chrysler. I know for a fact that they can read the flash counters. They use it all the time to approve or deny warranty claims on modded Dodge diesels. If they can do it I see no reason why Mitsubishi wouldn't or couldn't.
