3-wheel up driveway bad for diff?

I was just wondering if 3 wheeling it up a driveway is bad? my driveway is kind of sleep so I usually have to go at an angle, problem is when I do that most of the time only three wheels touch the ground, the fourth is usually the passenger rear wheel up in the air. sometimes i would try to grab a little speed and let it coast on up, but sometimes I go up slowly.

Just wondering if this is bad for the differentials?

No. U-Turns would do more harm than 3 wheeling.

It does not cause any immediate harm to the differential. At most it would cause irregular wear over time, but nothing that would constitute damage. I would park on the side instead of the driveway until you find a solution to fix the uneven gradient of the driveway. How is your current ride height ?

a differential allows opposite wheels to rotate at different speeds. the diff just spins without load if your going in a straight line on a normal road. the only times a diff will wear is during a turn where the differential will be under load or when your driving with a tire on ice or in a big puddle and is spinning at a different speed than the opposite tire (similar to a turn).

My old 05 STi did this and I never once had any issues with the diff. Had 60k miles on it when I sold it and it did 3 wheel motion every day for 50k of those miles.

This happens as well when I enter my driveway...its pretty much just a smooth curb so I can see how it happens...
