New exhaust

New exhaust

Hi there. I bought a catback exhaust for my PB evo x and the mileage is only 150kms, can i install the exhaust already or should I wait till the break in period is over.

Put it on. The engine is already broken in from the factory.

yea throw that bad boy on! lol like ggracer said, engines are tested hard from the factory so they are already broken in, that 1000 mile break in period is just a precaution. my resources are actual techicians and some even cousins who are certified toyota techs. that being said, i still would take it easy on the car ;-)

All cars goes through the QA process before leaving the plant. Only Chevy and Ford company skips that process. Lol

Thanks guys. Right now i have 170kms on my car. Everytime after driving engine smells silly. Something like burnt inside. Is this normal?

is it smelling funny after the new exhaust? if so, might be the gasket and stuff

Just put it on. If it starts to smell funny after you install, it's normal. Like a sweet smell.

It'll stink for the first 1000 km. It's completely normal for this car.

If it smells like rotten eggs you have an exhaust leak.

the smell should go away within a couple of days, otherwise you should check for leaks or bad gaskets

I didnt put the exhaust yet. I believe the smell is coming from the engine.
