No cages are not lighter, they add a bunch of weight, and so we work hard to find weight that we can lose. As of now, the car's at 3086 with 5 gallons of fuel. Not terrible, but there's more work to do.

mine is a rally car so above all ,the necessary and heavier rally cage ,we also have to carry extra seat , extra equipment for that and for the navigation etc. Also we have to have a full spare tire , jack etc. oil spill kit, emergency stop equipment like 3 triangle etc.

So my car wet and race ready is 3320 lbs. That is not including two person who gets in to do a race.
