I'm trying to install a 3 pod gauge and to avoid cutting a hole in my dash I'm wondering if the rectangular piece of plastic shown in the picture that is right by the front wind shield in the center of the dash can be used to pass wires through or if it's only covering up a bolt.

 

yeah you can pop it off, and there's a pass through. Pull the stereo, and you can use a coat hanger to fish the wire. It goes up and over the AC ducting stuff.

Alternately, pop off your left side dash trim, then remove the plastic panel on the inside of the door hinge area. you can run the wire right up into the pillar, or, along the bottom of the windshield.
