Kaizen vs CBRD Tuning

I am about to get tuned with the following drop in filter, test pipe, uicp on a gsr.

I know both performance shops are very good. I read most of the reviews from these stores but anyone have anything additional to add with their tuning experience? I'm a complete newbie with tuning.

If you have anything you don't want to mention feel free to PM. As I said, just looking for more peoples opinion not a war. Thanks

I've never used Kaizen, but I did go to CBRD. Nothing but great things to say about CBRD. Plus Chad's shop is simply amazing. Lounge with a TV, car parts gallery, race car games on the xbox, kids play room, etc. Plus on top of that the tune he did on my X was great. It's been just over 2 months now, and not a single issue with the tune.

I have had two cars tuned by Kaizen with zero tuning issues. They have done all my installs of other parts as well. They are not local to me, but it is worth the drive for reliability and piece of mind.

Bumping an old thread because I'm stuck between these two shops for a tune. I've heard great things about both but I haven't been able to find a recent dyno sheet from Kaizen. My car is full bolt on.

Either shop will give you a solid tune.

Not sure why you need to see a dyno sheet, whatever numbers you see really only mean something when compared to cars tuned on that dyno.

Just go to whichever shop makes more sense for you, and enjoy the tune!

To be honest I want to see how much boost each tuner tunes for. I'm not looking to compare numbers, one shop has a Mustang and the other has a Dynojet.

Gotcha. Yea that's probably be similar between the two. I believe I was tuned for about 25 lbs when I was tuned for bolt-ons at CBRD.
I really don't see many dyno sheets from Kaizen floating around recently though, your best bet is probably just to give them a call.

I've been tuned by both places and honestly I have a bias.

To be honest though with the mods you listed, and the rep of both shops, I'm sure you'll be fine with whichever shop you choose.

As for how much they tune for, I'm sure you could specify however much you want.

Kaizen for instance has you fill out a liability form if you do want a "kill mode" tune, pushing it to its limits. Personally I went with reliable power due to mine being a DD. So I'm sure you can specify what you want.

When I was at CBRD, Chad asked what I wanted as well, I asked his advice and he recommended that they prefer to have an all around tune. So I went with that.

If you're in NY, I'm not sure why you're looking to do the trip for either. Just go to Iveytune in elizabeth NJ and be done with it.

I'm sure they do a great job but this thread is about two shops who the OP and myself chose for a reason. I already made my decision but I'm sure this thread may be useful for others.

Well, you haven't said what the reason is, so I don't think it's that useful.

Because they are both very reputable and insanely clean shops with great tuners. Every review I have come across for both shops was positive and both shops appear to go above and beyond for their customers.

Either works for lightly-modded cars, maybe more. Pretty useful, IMO.
