yesh you can take the "fast Key" piece of plastic out but if you try to use just the valet key that is inside the fob then it will not start, you have to actually have the back end of the key inserted into the fob if you want it to start

I did not know this, my moms E-class you just leave the key in your pocket so I assumed it was the same.

With Fast Key, you do leave your key in your pocket. There is a dial knob thingy-watchamacallit where a typical keyhole would be on the steering column. You turn it to start the car while the key fob stays in your pocket.. Yes, that is a technical term.

The rockford system is great. Have it in my X, great quality and wouldn't know what to do without it.

Definitely worth it. Have had it on both of mine. Although the factory HID's was what really made me want the sight and sound package.

I loved the Fastkey in my RA. Can you get FK with the RF system without NAV in an Evo?

I just purchased a 14' GSR and I chose the SS pkg. I have had many nice systems in pretty much all my vehicles and I must say it is not bad (like some of the others said) for a stock Rockford Fosgate. I like it!!

+1 for 700W of awesomeness with the RF system. It really shines once you set up your custom equalizer settings for different types of music.

I also have the sound dampening enhancement with the SL package, but not sure how much of a difference that makes compared to not having it. From things I've heard on these forums about loud droning noises at high RPM's during highway travel, I don't seem to be bothered or notice any droning, so maybe it's working?

sight and sound is the way to go, I know the stock adjustable HID's arent the best but they are deff alot better than the halogens and the rockford KILLS the stock 140 watt sound system that you get without it

I went from a base model X to a SS and SL. You can definitely notice the difference with the additional sound dampening that comes with the SL package.

I didn't get the Nav package. I liked the Nav but didn't feel like it was worth that money. But I love the SS and SL packages. Definitely worth the money IMO.
