Hello all, i'm a long time lurker and first time poster. I exhausted all other resources looking for an answer to my specific problem but no luck yet.

I just bought a new 2014 evo mr. Everything was going great until i noticed something very strange. When coming to a stop i hear this odd clunking noise. This noise always happens when decelerating a second or two before the car shifts from 2nd to first gear. I drove a friends evo and it didn't do it.

I can guarantee that's the SST and it's completlely normal I would say. Is this is auto mode in normal?

 

My SST clunks sometimes as well. I also believe this is normal.

 

i went through something similar with the IX. Make sure there's nothing loose in your center console or glovebox. A stack of CDs cost me a few hours trip to the dealer.
