just recently bought an evo that had the engine pulled and some things moved around from what I have noticed so far from just peering in. the problem I am experiencing right now is that the engine only runs with the maf sensor unplugged. it has a 3.5 inch intake and I originally thought it was a tuning issue. well that has not resolved the issue because while different rom changes, when you plug in the maf sensor while the car is running with it previously running, it dies. when you start the car with the sensor plugged in it will run about 3 seconds and will die. I can drive it around on limp mode with it unplugged all day without a problem. I have also swapped out maf sensors with no resolution. can anybody tell me what the problem could POSSIBLY be?!?!

 

Theres so many possibilities it would probably be best to take it to a shop or have someone who is very familiar with evos and wiring who is local to look at it in person. Who knows if the wiring is all corrects and not crossed.
