HVAC help - blower working but no hot or cold air
hi!
need help in diagnosing problem on my HVAC system in my evo x.
the blower is working but no hot or cold air. its same temperature of air even i put in hot or cold.
the car was stored in the garage during winter and just last week.
the only thing i did during it was stored is to put an aftermarket double din, but i put back the stock radio because there is a problem with the double din that i install.
after i put back the stock stereo i notice only notice it last week when i used my car the AM station are not working but FM stations are ok.
only trouble i encounter during installation of the aftermarket stereo was blown fuse and replace it.
no more warranty on the car, hoping to get help before bringing it to the shop.
thanks

The HVAC unit is a digital piece, and runs off a harness. If the lights light up as they should, that part is probably okay. I'm leaning towards a loose harness, since you changed the stereo and this is all one unit.
The other places to check, if the HVAC controller appears ok:
the AC condenser, behind intercooler. Heater core is in the dashboard.
My honest guess is that you shorted something out when replacing the stereo. The fuse blew because a power wire hit something it shouldn't have. Also, the AM quit working? Check antenna connection I guess. But odds are, you blew another fuse and don't realize it, or, fried the HVAC control unit. I recommend eBay for replacement. You can use either an Evo one, or an Outlander one with digital control.
Good luck!
does the button for AC and Recirculate light up when pressed?

How do i test the air condenser? Or the heater core?
Ill probably check behind the dash for loose harness.
Thanks

^no. Only if OP complained of overheating engine.
Not switching from heat to cool is either the control panel or the flapper door actuator on the HVAC box.
Do you have another Lancer you could quick swap out the HVAC panel with? Takes maybe 20 minutes...
