Hello so I am new to this site, please forgive me if I am posting this in the wrong forum. So I just bought my 2008 EVO X with 20,390 miles I was driving today with the AC on low and noticed an indicator lamp came on, which I believe is over heating. I took the car home immediately and parked it. I noticed the cool hot temp was where it is supposed to be though, it did not exceed mid way.

I let the car cool off for about 4 + hours came out turned the key to the on position but did not start it, and the indicator popped up again immediately. But the car was cooled off so how could it be over heating?

I checked my coolant level it was right below L. There was no steam or smoke coming from the engine bay. I am very confused about what this could be , sensor maybe? Please help me if you know what this is I would love for you to chime in thanks again every thing is much appreciated!

That's the symbol for engine temp and will always be there, although you are running hotter than normal. Normal shoud be about half like what nfs posted.

My bad, everything is normal.

 

There a few different views you can drive with. Press the info button to the left of the gauge cluster to cycle through. You should get familiar with all of them. Typically if something bad happens the whole screen will change or a new symbol will appear.

what indicator are you talking about? Like someone else has stated, the info button changes the view of the dashboard, but besides that, everything is totally normal lol

Wait, are you worried because you saw the water temp display on the center cluster????

On a seriously note though, add a bit more coolant, that is low.
