I've seen a launch edition STI recently. The car LOOKS Tall its not a very good looking car at all.We are evo owners here amigo, so we all say EVO but STI's are not bad cars we all know this it's just ours are slightly better. And yes they tend to have engine problems ie Ringland failures. If you buy an STI wait a few years until they put that 2.0 WRX engine in it, direct injection will improve the MPG's alot.

I have both cars in my Garage, to make it easier for you to decide this might help you choose the right car. Whats your WHP goal , STI can't do 400WHP safely without a rebuilt engine. If you want 350WHP or less STI is good choice, bigger space and trunk feels more comfortable to drive in long trips. If you want something running 11 second quarter mile and cheap to mod EVO is the right choice to buy.

When I was looking at getting an X, I test drove both. They were pretty similar in terms of how they drove. To me, it felt like the Evo was a little tighter in steering.

There is another thread that is posted with the pictures of the 2015 presumably, and the interior looks awful. So might want to consider a 2014 or older.

Another thing to consider is the STI hatchback, I would want that, but I don't know what you want. I think you would have to get used, or at least a few years old, since I heard they aren't making the hatchbacks?

Bottom line: drive both, make a choice

Fyi yesterday i bought the last evo in all mexico.

There are only 50 2014 evos in all the country,

And they are not releasing the 2015 here, this is the only evo that has come out in mexico and the last.

I had to buy it

Congratulations! I think you made the right decision. You will have a much more reliable car, long term.

Good choice, honestly I think the Evo was the best choice lol. I don't really care on the looks of the new STI's.

I am still curious on why you needed to buy the car in mexico? Do they not allow american emission standards or what?

I also have both cars in my garage.

Love the 2015 STi as a daily but I'd still pick my MR any day of the week.

Notes on the STi:
-The Trans is a dream!! Like a video game. you can really feel how smooth the carbon syncros are.
-The gearing is great
-Style, really like it
-Suspension stock is BANG on. no need to change it. The height is decent but its dialed in perfectly. Pretty impressive.
-Interior is way better than Evo but who cares.
