fuel filter change

Why the hell are fuel filters so expensive for this car? Mitsubishi wants like $120 for one, does anyone know of an aftermarket/knock-off brand I can buy instead?

You could upgrade to a Walbro 255 adapter kit (many good vendors e.g. Cobb), which you should do anyway if you plan any power mods or E85, thereby removing the stock filter.

Then add a Fuelab filter in your engine bay with an advanced high flow fiberglass element, which is a better filter and cheaper to replace the element.

Looks like that's what I will have to do. Wasn't trying to spend the money for a whole setup but I guess Mitsubishi got their fuel filter prices confused with a Mercedes.
