Anyone know what the major differences are between and 08 X and the new models? I'm looking to pick up an 08 with 45k miles but I've been skeptical about it after hearing about the timing chain issues and what not.

I made the switch and am loving the X. Feels so much more stable, more comfortable, handles better, looks better, take mods very well. Its a great car. I will always love the IX, VIII and every gen before those. One day I would like to buy an IX and a 6. With that said, the X has come a long way. your seeing a lot of people leave their 8/9 to hop into the evo X. It was a late bloomer as nobody would let go of the 4g63 but I'm seeing so much progression with this platform and its only looking like it will keep progressing, hence why so many people are jumping into the latest evo platform.

the later models has refined and fixed the early model "mistakes", but really no major difference.
I have a 2008 and a 2014 . Most changes are visual and minor. Like dark rear lights , colored screens , some mechanical changes, but nothing you have to worried about. The biggest one is the aluminum head vs the plastic for a later ones. But still i dont think that is a major plus for the 08 vs the 2014. So as i dont think teh color info screen is that much better vs the 08 red "simpler" version of it.

But i have to say if you have a same priced and mileage later made Evo i would get that one, just by the principal of it
