help! returning a leased Evo X

So my biggest mistake is leasing an Evo. I'm being charged 4k to "replace" the BBS rims due to minor scratches. They're not giving me the option to repair them. I made a gofund account. Figured it was worth ashot since idon't have that kind of money. http://www.gofundme.com/jfum6o more info in the link. If anyone thinking of leasing an evo, don't do it! Thanks to anyone in advanced

Might be worth buying the Evo X from them. Take all the things they are trying to charge you for and subtract them from the market price. Flip the script on them.

Either that or total it, and let insurance pay it off.

Really don't think it's worth keeping it. 28k miles and ialready have transmission problems. I had a ralliart with the TC-SST transmission and at 7k miles,it was leaving. Should ikeep the car, I don't think it would last me another 6 years to finance it. And I'm not liking forward to paying 15k to replace that trans.

Should be able to get the trans fixed under warranty. At the very least it is worth finding out what they will sell the vehicle to you for. Could always resell it later.

Here are 2 reasonable suggestions.

1) see if someone has a "mint" condition set of Evo X BBS wheels for sale. I've seen them go for around $1000 to $1200. Put them on the car and sell your scratched wheels for half price - say $500. Then you're only out $500 to $600 total.

2) See if someone will swap BBS wheels with you plus cash. You give them like $600 and swap wheels. This probably isn't as likely but you never know.

Either way is better than giving over $4500.

Good luck OP. 4k to replace wheels that have minor scratches, only stealerships.

Starting a "gofundme" for such a small problem is a little egregious. There are several options available to you.

I've never leased a car so I don't know the workings on what they require the condition of the car to be when lease is up. I would think they would expect some wear and tear on it, besides that's what insurance is for. I can't believe insurance isn't going to pay for that and/or warranty of the car doesn't cover it.
How bad are the scratches(pics would be nice), and I can't believe they won't allow you to fix them? Sounds like a ****ty way to get 4k out of ya. I'm not sure maybe you have some legal process you could take to get out of this??? Good Luck!

You obviously have a miserable life and are probably a bitter person. Believe it or not, there are people who help out those in need. Which is why I stated it was worth a shot. I'm not asking for your sympathy nor am I asking for you to feel sorry for me

Let's see you join the forum in December you have 3 post and first post asks for money hmm yep I guess I'm bitter lol. Helping ppl in need is one thing like people that actually need help that are starving or need a place to stay warm but someone that just comes on and asks for donations because they can't afford to fix their wheels but drive a 30k car is just laughable

Well, me too. I thought the same thing...

I do hope you find a set of wheels (like suggested above).

This is probably your best option. There are two sets of BBS wheels on eBay right now, the prices are a bit steep though. Still better then paying the stealership $4K.
