ets fmic

So i recently purchased an ets fmic for my evo, and was wondering if i can just slap it on without having to get retuned? obvioulsy it would be better if i got retuned but i will be buying injectors and a fuel pump soon to go e85. So should i wait until i get a tune to put the intercooler on or is it alright if i put it on now? i am already tuned with all my intercooler piping and all those goodies.

Your best option is to ask your tuner.

IMO, if you're going to get retuned, I'd just wait to install it at that point.

You can go ahead and bolt on the intercooler. I have not seen them make a huge difference on re-tuning for that specific part. With the fuel pump, injectors and going to E85. That is all re-tuning.

^Agree. Better safe than sorry. On a stock tune, the only mod I had was an axle back for about year with no issues. Then I added an AMS fmic and uicp a couple of months before my tune and everything was fine until the weather turned cold. I then hit overboost cut.

No tune required You will definitely benefit from a return, but you definitely do not need a tune to run our intercooler.

Thanks!

I still don't think this is a good idea. You have no clue how his tuner tuned the car. It could be a very aggressive tune. A better flowing core will make more boost. Lower IAT could allow for less timing pull, etc...

If I'm totally off base, please correct me.

Dude, you're off base. An IC can be installed without a retune.

thanks guys! and yeah i wasnt gonna retune it JUST for the intercooler, if a retune was needed i was just gonna wait until i ordered injectors and a fuel pump and then get a retune. I didnt think i would need to get another tune, but i was just making sure. Better to be safe than sorry right?

i would just wait to tune until you install everything? they're all pretty simple bolt ons, the injectors just take some time to get tio

i would do this but im in no rush at all for injectors and fuel pump since i want to get coilovers and wheels too before spring comes, then go for e85 after that.
