interested in this as well. my lease ends in a year and just mulling over possible options that are going to be same or less than my $29k Evo X residual. also considering Z4m. My gf test drove one last year that had the 135is BMW chip in it and it seemed much quicker than my car.

The 135 is one of the most fun BMW's I have ever driven. (Have owned 2 E46 M3's, 330's etc)

So much power and overall terrific handling, just wish it had a little more room in it. Build quality is great as well, none of the lifter issues that some of the previous models were plagued with.

I'd wait for the 2 series versions, including the upcoming M. I just can't stand how the 135 looks with that curve on the side doors. Just bugs me. Super neat car though. Guy I work with has the m1 and it screams, very fun car. Bigger than I thought inside it holds 4 comfortably-ish.

one thing i'm concerned with is RWD. I've never owned a RWD car and do live in the northeast. Snow tires would def be a given I know but still not sure if driving in the wet or even dry should be a concern. I've had FWD and AWD only

Handling in the snow goes (from best to worst)

AWD
RWD
FWD

You'll be fine, and it will feel much more in control than FWD imo. Still don't like how it looks, but it is fast lol.

I'd keep the EVO if I had to choose either car right now.

I sold my Evo X for a 335I E90. Basically the same engine.... Its a monster of an engine when paired up with aftermarket parts. I would assume a 135I would be a bit quicker than a 335I.

I was having evo withdrawals so I bought an Evo IX 3 months of me owning the 335I.

Its a fun car stock. I was planning on doing a JB4 tune + Down pipes + Meth for some power (370+ HP).

I do miss the *** warmers , ride quality, and quietness it has since my mom is driving it now.

It is, especially in the 1/4 mile.

I like the looks of the 1 series

Just saw pics of the 2 series and it suffers from the same bloatedly generic styling of their other cars.

Since I'm in the middle of buying a house I can be patient I'm sure folks will be trading in their 1's for some 2's.

Definitely gotta drive one though.

I returned my 135i after the lease. It had decent power but it was numbed to the bone. Sport suspension was overrated and totally lacked any kind of rawness. Sport seats totally lacked support , steering felt nothing and those flat free tires were the worst - heavy and expensive.

Expensive to mod, too.

I could not wait to get rid of that thing...

no more bimmers for me... they look good thou to chicks.

Thats what people dont get about beemers. Expensive to own and expensive to mod. On that not, though, I asbolutely LOVE the 1 series.

I had an X, went to 135i and back again.
The 135i is a nice cruiser, but it's not the handling and performance car the X is.

I'm way happier in the Evo, even though I am older than most on this forum.

1 series M coupe, if you can find one. Looks funny but the performance is suppose to be one of the best among the M cars.

I currently own my Evo8 as well as a 2015 M235i -RWD .

I would LOVE a 1 series M...

But I do love the M235 it is a blast , lots of pros , but I would NEVER choose it over my evo - if you can do both, do it!
