Evo X insurance costs for adults????

When I say adults I mean 25+ anyways hey guys it's been years since I've been in this forum. So back in 2006 I purchased a evo 9. I was 21 and I was paying around 2400$ a year insurance maybe even less. So I'm currently shopping yet again for either a 2015 sti or 2015 evo x. I got a great quote for the sti which came in at 1200$ a year....can't say the same for the evo. They quoted me now at the age of 30 for 2600$ a year. I was blown away I mean I felt like I'm a 18 year old getting insurance for first time. Has anyone else at the age of 30 with a perfect driving record got these high quotes? I'm using geico also so if you recommend any other companies let me know. I was actual sad cause I've always loved evos and wanted to get a x but if the insurance is really that high sorry evo guess sti wins this time. From what I've researched evos are highly crashed and have high insurance rating with the companies. Let me know your insurance stories.

Well I'm at $115 a month for both the new Evo and my 2006 Legacy with Allstate. So I think you're getting ripped off.

Depends where you live. Mine is crazy high but there are a pile of morons in Houston so I can't do much about it.

Insurance is a crock, they just charge what they feel based on the number of issues where you live. Must be a high accident region to be that high, as is mine.

Along with that the EVO is harder to fix than an STi due to all the aluminum panels. Also there are some spots that if you get hit there, your car is pretty much totalled and not repairable so that probably factors in as well.

I believe that you can find much cheaper insurance with other companies. Unfortunately I do have an accident record but I am still able to pay less with the same deductible to a very good insurance company. If you do want a quote from them, you can pm me and I let you know. I am always happy to help out a fellow evo owner.

HA HA HA HA. I'm hoping this was a typo too. I hate to tell people how to live their lives, but unless you are making GREAT money at that age, paying that much $$$ for insurance (Poster Evolution X $460/month) is just crazy. He is young so hopefully he'll become more financially educated as he gets older. I have a 2010 GSR. I am 35 now but I was 30-31 when I bought it. I have Geico and pay $780/year FULL COVERAGE with $500 deductible, married and its my main driver. I live in Phx, AZ.

I'm 31, and pay $70ish / month for full coverage of my 03 evo. That's with State Farm, when I switched away from Progressive I saved a pretty fair amount of money... shop around.

Anyone that has a 500 deductible is just giving the insurance companies money. No way anyone would claim a 500 dollar scratch on their car, so why carry such a low deductible? Get a 1000 or 1500 deductible instead which is more realistic as to when you would even consider getting insurance involved.

Bam - Much lower insurance just with that change.

Not a typo and I don't make great money, it's a leased Evo with mandatory coverages that I have to have and progressive gave me the best price out of geico and all state

Crank up your deductible man, you're just throwing money away.
