How to store my Evo
How to store my Evo
Hello all,
I have 2014 Evo X MR and from northern NJ.
The car has about 5000 miles on it and recently got the oil change done (to Eneos Synthetic Oil 5W-20)
Starting May 2015, I won't be driving the car, which will sit in the garage for 1-2 years.
I would like to hear some suggestions on what can be done before I put the cover on my Evo.
Here is what's on my mind:
1. Wash & Wax
2. Disconnect Battery
3. Put the car cover on
4. Ran Injector Cleaners already
The car is fairly new and has low miles so not too sure what I should do other than the above.
Thank you all for in advance

The fuel and tires are important. For the fuel if you go to pure-gas.org you can find out where you can find some pure gas. That way you won't have ethanol in the fuel when its stored. Even with a stabailizer it can be a risk for that long.
Make sure you use a good stabalizer like startron. With a bottle of that and some ethanol free and the car on jacks I would put some mouse poison around the car to avoid guests during its slumber.

If your going to cover your car you will probably get rats in the bay. I swear, i used to cover my cars then mice would get into the engine bay and make nests. I stopped covering them and it made it more difficult for them to climb up.
Fuel Stabilizer is the biggest. Or maybe just leave the car on an empty tank. Second is jacking up your car to save the tires.
-When pulling the car out of storage, I would do an oil change, coolant, and refuel it.
