Yes many people do, and i'm not saying that not having gauges will guarantee a failure.

But especially with the SST, you need to know what is happening with the car.

How would you know if your running lean and about to pop the motor without a gauge?
Or know when the SST is up to temp?
Or know what youre boost/vacuum levels are?

There are critical parameters that must be monitored to ensure proper working order.

Even if your tune is super solid, that does not guarantee you wont have a component failure.

OP, you need some sort of monitoring solution. Dont leave it up to chance and just hope nothing goes wrong.

Edited the first post, I posted this from my cell earlier - so I reworded the post and cleaned it up. PLEASE DO NOT SUGGEST GAUGES THOUGH.

I did break things down without gauges, and still think you should work with Kozmic.

Good luck -

Almost doubling factory output is going to stress ALL drivetrain components.

But you do you man. Just link me to the inevitable Part-Out thread.

EDIT: Also, listen to Napalm_Emema. Kozmic is the best with the SST.

Feeling weird/nervous is one thing. Telling people they need gauges or they're going to blow their engine up is something entirely different.
30k miles on my bolted and tuned car without gauges, and without a hiccup

If you're not getting a bigger turbo, why did you keep the downpipe in your list of upgrades?

Understood. It's a peace of mind for me so I will be doing gauges very soon lol.

I plan to do gauges within 2-3 months of the mods, but I'd rather get all the performance mods done and get it tuned, then install the gauges myself. The tuner is a 6 hour round-trip for me, and I don't need him for gauges - but I need him for everything else. Just makes sense money-wise to do the gauges after (or before) since it makes me only need one trip.

upper and lower piping, grimmspeed ebc, intake, intercooler, injectors, fuel pump and e85 tune and you will be close to 400 if not a little over depending on the dyno. do take it to kosmic though, it will be worth the trip and the money to save your SST. you may need to upgrade clutch packs though.

EDIT: forgot to put exhaust as well. downpipe isn't really needed.

Yea peace of mind is definitely good, and I'll end up with gauges eventually, just trying to let OP know they're not a necessity right away if he doesn't want to spend the cash on them now lol.

I really want one, but I'm military so it goes off 10+ times a day when you get near any checkpoint or airfield. My friend has one in his Challenger and it's annoying as hell.

Search!

Don't get dw265 lph pump if you want anything past stock turbo on e85, Go AEM 320+ for room to fit a stock frame upgrade.

Oh and get a clutch before anything else.

My mods are listed here and will net you a safe 450 whp.
