HELP!! MAP/Walbro E-85 line will not fit onto fuel pump

HELP!! MAP/Walbro E-85 line will not fit onto fuel pump-image.jpg

In need of some advise from those with this kit (Walbro 450 lph fuel pump with MAPs adapter kit and E-85 safe fuel line (clear/white flexible hose). How were you able to fit the fuel line over the barbs on the fuel pump? No matter how hard I try I am unsuccessful at getting it over the first barb.

I've read through the threads of those who've installed this kit and none seem to have the problem I am. I stopped by the local NAPA and they suggested boiling the ends of the fuel line in water to expand it first. Before going that route I was hoping to get some insite from those who've done it. Thanks

*EDIT*
Placing the line in boiling water didn't do a thing to help. I let it sit in boiling water for 30-45 seconds and it had absolutely no effect

you can try this, use a bit of oil on the barbs.

OR if that fails, you can dremmel down the barbs a bit but try to leave at least a small lip. plug the hole to make sure you don't get debris in your pump.

Why not just call MAP and ask them ? They usually provide pretty good support.

I used a heatgun to soften it up a bit...maybe keep it in hot water longer...

I did this last week. You have to use a heat gun and heat up that end. Should work.

Warm it with the heat gun and it will go on with some extra elbow grease!
