Installing GSR Wing, still need the dampers?

Installing GSR Wing, still need the dampers?
I have a GSR wing that I want to put on my MR. I heard about changing the dampers to hold the new trunk but are these still needed for just the wing install?

Install the wing first, and then see if you are okay with the heavier trunk lid. If you are not okay with it, then install stronger springs.
