4wd service rec

ok i have a 2010 evo gsr and my 4wd service rec is on but when i turn the car on i can hear the pump and 4wd service rec does not come on at all after i start it up even just sitting there letting it warm up. It comes on after a few min or so of driving.

and i checked for codes nothing came up for that

HELP!!!!!! please and thanks

Take it to the dealer. There's a recall on the pump for 10 years or 100,000 miles, which ever comes first

I know it's splitting hairs but it's not a recall. It's a warranty extension.

They pay like a recall but a recall would mean everyone with a specific model / version of the pump could get theirs replaced for free, regardless of its condition.

Warranty extension means it needs to break before they'll replace it.

oh ok thanks,but why does it stay off then come on after i start driving, and i am not getting any codes, could there be something else to look at,could my battery have something to do wit it cuz that seems kinda weak?

Sorry if I wasn't more clear. If you are not getting any codes, they may have you wait. Take it in if you can set up a time and have them take a look if you are getting service required light. That may be enough for them.

You don't need a warranty to get that AYC pump fixed by Mitsubishi. As long as the car is under 10 years or 100k you can get it done.

yea but will they still do it even if there is no code it? i have heard a battery going dead could mess wit it?

they most likely won't cover it until the pump is dead or actually throw error codes. the service light might not even be related to the pump. I would just take it in and have them look.

yea i would take it in but the mitu dealer is 4hrs away, where is the fuse for the pump or any other fuse to look at?
