Can i put a 7" DVD player inside a 6.1" Dash?

Hey guys, will a 7" DVD touchscreen unit fit into my GSR without any dash kit or modification? I was told that it would fit and then i was told it would not. I'm trying to get a Bluetooth DVD player in there. I know i will need to find a adapter for the steering wheel controls but thats okay because i will. My only concern now is.. Am i forced to buy a 6.1" unit (OEM Unit) or can i fit a 7" screen?

I was going to shop at crutchfield.com and when i select the "2014 Lancer" it says it WOULD fit...

Like Veronica said above, as long as it's double din it should fit. Since you have the RF system you will have to buy the metra Mito-03 for anything to work.

Could you post a direct link to the metra mito-03 system here? I was curious if you think the metra system would work better than the Pac-Audio SWI-RC ? http://www.pac-audio.com/productDeta...&CategoryID=29

I don't know what you're going to install but it looks like the pac has a lot of exceptions to what you can and can't install. Here's the link for the metra from newegg. It's a lot cheaper here

So basically i need to get the metra mito-03 and the Axxess ASWC-1 Steering Wheel Control Adapter for my steering wheel controls to work? I don't think i understand this fully yet then... Can't i just buy the 7" in dash and get the steering wheels controls functionality to work with a PAC SWI-RC? Is it necessary for me to get the Metra Mito-03 to maintaining the use of the factory amplifier even though i do not have the Rockford sound system?

I actually installed a aftermarket sub and amp already. I thought only the Rockford system came with a amplifier under the driver seat therefor they would be the only ones needing the Metra Mito-03?? ... right?

Sorry I assumed you had the RF system. You don't need the mito, just the steering wheel control adapter. Nothing else. Just make sure you get one for your MY. The wiring is different on the older Xs
