I bought an FE in Rochester, only one at Cortese Mitsubishi, as my first ever new car purchase too since my favorite car has always been Evo and this was a chance to have one of the last produced as my prize possession. US0101. I love it. I had an 06 IX TB a couple years back and now this fills my void again.
Did you happen to sell that TB IX to Cortese?

I traded in my 2011 GTI for a 2015 GSR Premium so ignore my username haha. I live in Canada by the way. The US didnt get the premium trim option.

The premium trim is basically the GSR Handling package with sunroof, HID headlights, rockford fosgate system, and recros with leather/suede. You also get the BBS wheels.

The FE in Canada is the Premium trim plus the FE badges, red stitching in the leather, slighting more HP.

The msrp on the gsr premium is $46998. The msrp on the FE is $49498 but the dealship i bought my evo from had 7-8 of them and had them all marked at 51ish. The mark up in canada is real. mind you our dollar is **** so i guess you can do the math if you live in the states.

In my opinion the GSR Premium is the best bang for your buck option in Canada. If a FE is really worth another 5k than go for it but the Premium is 95% the same car.

Congratulations to all the FE owners. Looking good! Kinda wish I had been more patient when pulling the trigger on a new EVO. I jumped too early on a 15’ GSR back in Feb, fearful that Mitsubishi wouldn’t be bringing a Final Edition to the US, after reading this article. http://www.motortrend.com/news/mitsu...final-edition/

Do you actually have any rough estimates of how much it would have cost to bring one in from Canada? I was very curious about this as well, but never really got past the "I wonder if that's possible" stage.

Are the FE in Canada sporting a recaro or is it a regular mitsubishi seat?

The rear seats also have full red stitching, which they didn't even bother doing to our US cloth seats.

the FE in Canada has the recaros.

If someone in Canada bought a FE for 48k they got a good deal. i didnt see the original post about that but im assuming they bought it in Ontario. Most dealerships ive looked into, atleast in alberta have them marked at 51-53k.

For those of you who are even considering importing one, i dont know the cost of it but i know that there are plenty left in Alberta. Especially Edmonton.

I doubt it is feasable to buy a Canadian FE and bring it back to the U.S. unless you have cash in hand. I don't think any banks or financial institutions are going to be willing to finance that. Maybe if you can find a Canadian who wants the U.S. FE for some reason (maybe they don't want the sunroof?) you could buy a US one and trade it or something.

Recaro

Did you try to swap your recaro seats to the new one?

Yeah i asked them... they said no but they put on some all weather tires. Seats will be changed out eventually. I wasnt even ablt to test drive this car before I puchased it. The dealer ship wouldn't even let anyone sit in it (not even employees). It had 15 miles on it when I drove it off the lot.

I tried to get it to 41k US total my cost after 1200 import tax, and 4k license tax here in my state and in the end I was at 43k, and bought my US car for 40k out the door, and couldn't justify the extra 3k for one. Use a personal loan plus cash you have to avoid bank hassel, then refi with an auto loan after you get title in hand from your state to lower the intrest.
