Steering wheel turned slightly to the left & going straight.. Help plz
My steering wheel is slightly turned to the left when i drive in a straight line. If i go 5mph the car will literally turn slightly to the left like it is supposed to do... BUT.. if i go 8mph & above the steering wheel is slightly turned to the left but the car is perfectly straight forward.
I did not notice this until i looked carefully and realized that i am going straight at 60mph but my steering wheel looks like i should be going into the guard rail because it is slightly left.
Now i installed Ebiach Springs last fall then i also got a Alignment after an additional 100 miles. But i did not really pay any attention to the steering wheel because the car felt fine. When it came closer to winter storage that is when i noticed the steering wheel.
Can someone tell me if this is a bad install on the springs? or is it a bad alignment? or what could be the issue? Is something to tight? To loose?
It's weird. The picture i posted sucks but the car is in winter storage and this is the only picture i have at the moment. The picture is the car with the wheels actually straight but the steering wheel is turned to the left. It should be perfectly in the middle. idk.. Thank you.

Take it to a shop , but don't say, "I need an alignment."
Instead, say: "My car pulls to the right above 8mph."
This will have them inspect things that having nothing to do with an alignment check.
Could be anything - from a low tire pressure on the right side, high tire pressure on the left side, to dragging brake (right side), or even sub-frame damage.

Let me be more clear. I just got a alignment. The car actually DOES NOT pull in any direction. The steering wheel LOOKS like it should be pulling to the left but in reality the car is perfectly straight even when I let the steering wheel go.
Right because when the shop did the alignment the steering wheel may not have been straight so they adjusted the alignment with the steering wheel slitghtly crooked so now to go straight it has to be turned a little.

thank goodness it is nothing more than a re alignment. But damn.. that was in the fall and I won't be out until later this year so looks like I'm paying again. Thank you for clearing this up for me hooba

I should add, is it a big deal to drive like this until I burn these OEM tires out before I get a new set? Other than the visually tilted steering wheel..? I figure I would get new tires then alignment again anyway.
You can fix this yourself if you want. Most alignment tech's are too stupid to check the steering when doing an alignment.
This involves loosening the Tie Rod nut on each side and adjusting the tie rod rotation equally on both sides in one direction or another. You will need to mark using a sharpee the current position incase you mess up, you can move it back and start over.
It's not hard once you wrap your head around the process. There are videos on youtube also.

For future reference, this happens at every lame alignment shop I've ever been too. (It's why I have my own alignment rig at home, because, yes, I'm **** retentive). What happens is this. The lazy *** tech adjusts the toe on ONE side of your car to get the total toe correct, and just lets the steering wheel be off center. They get it into spec, and expect that most owners won't notice the steering wheel is off center. I watched numerous techs do this, then called them on it because I don't want my steering wheel pointing left, and they always argued "that's the way we always do it". My response "doesn't means it's right".
^ Thanks. Yes, the car is in storage but i already *****ed them out and now it is noted for a free adjustment when i get it out of storage in the spring. Thanks for explaining it.
