Transmission Pump Evo x MR

So i been hearing this rattling/knocking noise coming from my engine bay. Its a 2014 MR with 9750 miles. Took it in today just to have it checked out and they told me it was the Transmission pump that's causing the noise and it is completely normal.

Has anyone had this issue or heard about this? I been reading it's normal and found a video of the same issue im having but that's about it..

Thanks guys

It does this when doing what? How can you repeat it? 2014 MR here I don't know of any such noise other than I do notice a bit of clunky noises coming from the car when I go down the ramp of my parking garage at work. Just then though, other than that it's silent (the car), well for an EVO anyway. I assumed it was more suspension bits than anything transmission related though.

right when you start the car and let run for like 10-25 sec you can hear it in inside the car... i did try something the other day right when i started the car, i put it in drive with the brake still applied and it went away, went to neutral and you can hear it again... its odd

normally hear it in the morning when its cold, but im starting to even when its warm

I hear like clicking and stuff when cold all of that is normal. Honestly after reading a ton about the car I just relaxed and tried to learn the car to find out what was abnormal. These are loud cars with all kinds of weird noises to them. I chalk them up as normal but if I hear something new added to the mix then I worry.

When did you get the car, how long have you owned it? If you just got it, just drive for a while if you have an issue you will know but these are loud odd sounding cars so just try and learn what is 'normal' because these sound like no other car I've owned lol.

Also since you have an MR, some words of advice -

Always drive in S Sport manual it preserves the clutch packs and is better for the transmission overall

When stopped at a light for a long time, or stuck in traffic, drop the car into neutral to again protect your clutch packs.

Don't floor it unless you are sufficiently warmed up.

Change the SST fluid at 30k miles.

There has been many threads about this issue.

Are you referring to this noise? If so, its normal. My car has been making this noise since day 1. It's a multi plate wet clutch and will chatter if the car is not in gear. The thread above should answer any questions you may have.
