My car has a test pipe, and I vent my crankcase gasses under the hood. I can pretty much smell the cancer whenever I have my fans on, so I don't mind a little bit of battery venting!

All I did was take measurements of the stock Panasonic battery and then go to Advance Auto parts.

Once there they had a plethora of normal non-vented and vented batteries (remember a lot of BMW and Mercedes and even the Miata have vented non-under the hood batteries). I chose one of the vented batteries and its dimensions were IDENTICAL to the stock Panasonic.

I ended spending about $160 for the battery and all I had to do was swap the location of the plastic nipple from the right to the left side.

If you guys want a picture for the exact battery I have, I can supply one later.

I would love pictures and/or a part number of the battery. I work with auto parts daily and my battery is on it's way out, I would love to replace it with something similar for a fraction of the cost.

See above, do you have part numbers? I can get my hands on Delco batteries and it would be ideal as they have wicked warranties.

I've used a Braille GU1R for about 3 years now. Works great for me. Other than saving around 30lbs in weight, it also doesn't discharge at all when i let the car sit for the winter. I installed a battery kill switch so i just flip it when i'm parking the car for more than a week or so and then its perfect when i want to drive it.

The PC680 kits work great as well though for maximum weight savings. As long as a charger is kept on the battery when sitting for longer periods of time, or at least left disconnected and inside where its warm.

CTEK makes great chargers for a cheap price. We have had small batteries that were properly maintained last 8+ years, and batteries that were left dead in the cold last for 2 weeks, it all really comes down to how well you maintain it.

I'm seeing them a few places online, for $550+
I mean, if "because racecar" then fine, but otherwise I'd rather deal with another OE style battery in 5 years.........

The Bosch 35-650BAGM fits and is vented and costs $200 from PepBoys

Does this battery perform just as well than stock? I went to the stealership a couple of years ago and I just don't want to spend another $475 on a battery.

I use an Optima redtop. Started my big bore with 10-40W oil, ID1700's and big cam in -10F no problem.
As much as I try to avoid those starts...

I mean, if you want to open your wallet and grab the lube, there are the new lithium antigravity batteries:
https://antigravitybatteries.com/pro...tive/ag-35-rs/
Now you get charging circuitry IN your battery.... should last longer and has circuitry to keep it form going dead. Built-in reserve for jump starting your car. Some really neat stuff... just not $900 after tax neat IMO

I really don't understand why people just don't use the Redtop... I've had the same one for years and my car has been down more than running, I've had it dead and charged countless times and it's still working strong.
