They have proper 17 digit Vins so I don't think it would be all that difficult to get it titled and tagged. Canadian cars can be registered without hassle because they are of the NA market. I contacted one of the Canadian dealers and they said if you wanted one you had to buy it outright, you cant finance or lease if you do not have a Canadian address

Essentially same sticker but you get BBS and Recaros? Sounds like a deal to me

For sure it'll be a nice deal as long as there are no hassles or issues bringing it into the US for title & registration. Has anyone done this on a new FE?

It's funny when the USDM FE gets badgered because of no Recaros... I know it sucks but it is what it is. For track use, there are much better track-specific seats anyway. Heck my stock GT350 Recaros and GT4 Sport Buckets are better than the Evo Recaros anyway so personally to me it's not a deal breaker on the FE. Plus there are EvoX Recaros periodically available to purchase & retrofit...

I would hope so, the EVO Recaro's are 8 years older than the GT350 styled ones.

Yet another reason why a FE w/o Recaros shouldn't be a deal breaker... IMHO!

Agreed . Have Japan Recaro sr7f lassics on order for mine.

To bringing an FE to the states, wasn't there only 300 made for Canada? Are there any left?

Its not just the seats... its also the MR BBS wheels... The Canadian model is probably the exact version (LHD of course, see video) next to its JDM counterpart... we get POOP here. It is the same thing with the 8/9 UKDMs and AUS models. They have the JDM rears, tails and front headlights which people pay an arm and a leg to get in their USDM cars.

And even if the Recaros are 8 years old... they are still Recaros and instead you pay for garbage seats that you have to remove, get rid of and on top purchase some out of pocket which AREN'T cheap... a set of aftermarket Recaros aren't cheap to the average Evo owner. That is a set of Volks easily.

I love how people want to justify or defend their purchase one way or another which just isn't logical. There is a reason why FEs aren't selling. Cause people rather spend the money on an Evo before it was stripped.

Bang for the buck... a 2014 or older Evo for what the OP is looking to do sounds like a smarter purchase. But if a name plate with a number and the fact that you want to say I own an FE... then cool bro... its your coin and if you got plenty of it to throw around, then everything is a moot point.

The seats are a huge difference. Until I sat in a GT350R, I'd say the X Recaros were the best OEM seats I've ever used. Certainly there are better aftermarket options out there, but I couldn't have a 2015 without knowing seat upgrade would be immediate for me.

Touchy subject, them seats are... who the eff knew any 2015 EvoX would not be an Evo at all w/o Midas' throne!

SMH. But I did already plan on retrofitting OEM Recaros anyway before my car even arrived...

Oh no justification needed to anyone... at least from my perspective. I bought my FE because I myself like it and that's what counts. And last I checked it's still a bonafide EvoX.

A lot of people track their with stock seats, so I can see how some would be turned off by the lack of the Recaros. Some like a "racey" seat, whether they use them or not. Definitely a turn off.
Not everyone feels like swapping seats in and out.
I get it.

I linked to a dealer that's got like 20 in stock earlier in the thread. In response to Bossing I don't think anyone would have any hassle registering the car as it is essentially he same car we have here besides the seats/wheels.

I agree with everything here. I knew the usdm FE was easily going to be the worst out of CAN and JDM Versions and even previous Usdm versions but I got it bc I wanted a new Evo and wanted to break it in my own way and know that it wasn't abused. Heck even the "sport package" edition of the CAN evo is practially an FE. Its essentially an MR with a 5 spd (BBS, floating rotors etc) and non-stiched recaros *rolls eyes*. I have plenty of headroom in my non-recaro evo, but the Xs that I had driven with recaros gave me even more due to sitting lower. (I'm 6'7" for reference)

^Exactly! Same reason on why I decided to get a brand new EvoX. It's a bummer for the lack of Recaros as we all know and been beaten to oblivion but like I said that's how it is in the US market and can't do squat about it. Nothing new there.

I was searching for GSR's at first but then looked more into the FE and ended up liking it. I can buy any used Evos out there if I wanted but not 100% knowing about its history turned me off. We all know many many Evos don't remain stock... and I'll likely be one of the few who'll keep one bone stock from birth to grave.

Way to blow the seats and wheels out of proportion. They are just bbs wheels and feel the stock seats are about the same as the viii and ix seats support wise.

End of the day almost all of us replace our wheels. But we get two piece rotors and bilsteins which I personally prefer on the track.

I wasn't about to buy another used evo that someone else beat on. It was move onto another platform or get a x fe. And imo, the other platforms dont have the base i would like to build off of.

Last but not least, the FE is outputting more power mod for mod. Sodium valves? Idk what it is, but english has been getting better numbers on these cars than others. (Just pointing that out, i will be staying stock for a while minus having already done my brakes and pedals)

There is no over stating it, those seats are worth their weight in gold.

Hence the reason on the used market they have increased in price by 40% since the FE dropped, everyone wants them in their Evo.

Comparing the OEM Recaro's to that junk in the 15 model is just laughable at best.
