Really considering trading Focus RS for a new Evo X. Need input.
If FEs were available when I bought my 2015 GSR I would have bought a FE. If a Ford Focus RS was available, as in on the lot, I would have probably bought that because it's in production.
There will always be better around the corner (well maybe not for permanent AWD...) and I got 0% financing. So I'm happy with the GSR.

Interesting thread. I was at Sebring last weekend with Bossing. I drove an RS on the track. I just bought one of the FE's from RC Hill today (first dealer link in this thread).
I love the RS. Looks are subjective so if you don't like it, who cares? If I do like it, you should care even less.
The view from the drivers seat is awesome. I really like the interior. Ford has done a great job with the hype and heritage of the RS. I enjoyed my laps behind the wheel. The big issue for me is I am a Chief Instructor. I'm gonna do 44 track days this year. I need something that can handle a lot of track time at the pace I drive. Oil temps in the RS were way too high for track use and it will require additional cooling. While none of us had AWD system overheating at Sebring, many have had it at other tracks. I run lot's of other tracks. The final nail in the coffin for me was the inability to add negative camber up front without going to coilovers. I know I'll be eating up the outside edge of the tires bad. I hate to see cords on the shoulder and tread in the middle of my tire. Really pisses me off. I already have to rotate my tires on the wheels on my BRZ to keep from cording the shoulder prematurely.
I suspect if my budget was big enough, I'd get the RS for my daily and the EVO for the track. At this point in my life one car has to to both.
Bummed about no Recaro's on the 15's. The decision would have been much easier if they were there. Ultimately I decided I liked some of the features of the FE over a 14 GSR. I also felt a difference in the drive between the FE and the GSR.
WTB, clean EVO X Recaros.

Congrats Gatorac! Which FE color/spec did you finally pull the trigger on?
I have a lead on local EvoX Recaros so if I don't take it, I'll let you know... but for regular track duty don't rule out real deal track seats.

Easier to swap in Stock recaros due to the safety systems I think. Can't even turn the car on without those sensors in place or you get warnings that are hard to get rid of
It isn't too bad. Just need to use resistors and fake some signals. There are a few threads on it.
Spent 10 hours converting my BRZ back to stock and headed up Saturday morning to take delivery of a diamond white FE. Got halfway there (2.5 hour drive) and turned around. I'm still in love with my BRZ. 46k miles and 13 different tracks (most of them more than once) in 2 years. I took the long way home and enjoyed my drive. I think I'll keep this car for awhile longer.

BRZs are pretty neat too, though. And no turbo crap to deal with.
