fender vents removed.

hi. searched the forum, didn't want to bump an old thread and bother your eyes having to re-read some of the same old. lol

Anyone remove their vents, and how do you like it? Just pulled mine out and not sure how I feel. I just know I hate the stock black plastic and the cf aftermarket option isn't all that appealing. Any thoughts welcome, including telling me to never make another thread.

Have at it, gentlemen!

I think I like the look if it's blacked out.

I have had my fender vents off of my car for about 2 years now and I love the look.

Or you can just get a different fender vent design:

(I know, not helpful, but does solve the issue )

Thanks for the suggestion. The MR's come painted. Not really a fan of that look. Just wanted something simple, and showed the actual holes.

Really? Nice! I'm not sure if I can pull the look off being stock.

That's actually pretty cool. I might just do that.

Is there any harm in taking them off? Are they just a pointless cosmetic piece? I'm assuming to take them off you have to take out the fender lining and go in that way.

From the threads I searched and read, there is no harm in removing them. You don't even have to go through the fender lining. I pulled straight out from the front with no issues.

are there no screws that keep them in place? You just straight pull it out?

As far as I remember it was held on by just double-sided tape, but either way take it off carefully. I think there were plastic tabs that were on the backside, all I remember for sure it was held on with double-sided tape.

I think there was something more to them. I'm sure you could google and find the install directions for any of the aftermarket fender trim pieces and they would let you know the info needed to remove them...
