well, I think you should be able to jack up the front wheels and spin them or move them back and forth and feel for any slop otherwise, you can take it to a specialty shop and have them check it out. Or just wait and see!

Mitsubishi might warranty it if you aren't heavily modded. Just a heads up but a replacement transfer case is around 4500.00.

Did you launch it a bunch that would be the reason it is failing?

Not recently. Just how I usually drive it and have not tracked the car in about 3yrs. Car only has 65k and I guess I would be considered heavily moded since I have an evo x in a ralliart and a bunch more stuff as u can see in my build page. Also my car is red line by Mitsubishi. New transfercase is 3k :-((. A used one with low miles on it is about 1.2k and I believe jacks has parts for rebuild.

The 4500 I suggested was based on taking the car to the dealership for a new one. Someone towed my GSR and blew up my transfer case, which they ended up paying for. So that's where I pulled that number. You could definitely get cheaper going used etc.. Good luck with finding a solid one, sucks you have to though...

Your turbo looks fine. Also, blown turbos sound like a Kazoo, not a whine. I would call TRE for your repair needs. Best shop in business for Evo drivetrain.

Yea probably for them to remove and install. Jack said it's probably the ring and pinion but they can say that for sure. They have parts for it http://www.jackstransmissions.com/co...ons/evo-t-case

I think you missed my post, but I wouldn't use Jack's. Had a bad experience with them and a friends transmission. Never again.

Give TRE a call.

I rebuild these turbos, and I don't think that is your issue. I agree, and it sounds like the transfer case.

BTW in another thread I think you made, you were looking for a turbo that will spool at like 4k, well those turbos you listed ain't going to do that buddy. You need to stay stock frame, and run the TC6776 turbo I run, or something in similar size. You would need something like a FP red sized turbo. Have a good one, enjoy your weekend. Have that transfer case looked at.
