2015 FE, thoughts?
Truth be told all those cars might be good, and fun in their own ways. But speaking from experience on what I've driven so far, nothing has come close to the feel of an Evo. Mitsubishi did a hell of a job making these cars raw and unique and unlike the competition in that sense. It's hard for me to put it in words, but, if you're looking for that sensation and that feeling of driving an Evo, you're going to have to get an Evo. There simply is no substitute.
Hmm, an evo sitting around in Georgia heat with no gas in the tank and running out. That could mean oxidation in the tank and issues with the fuel pump down the road.
Unless you put many clauses for free work if things break, I'd probably skip on this one.

But I did like how that '04 Boxter pulled.

Only in the sense I was offered FEs @ 32 and 33k.
US FE is worth 30-35K no more than that, remember no recaro, no Rockford fosgate. No Leather, Basic Lancer Seat with Red Stitch only on the front not in the back. Enkei rims, no sunroof.
Other Countries FE, Recaro, Rockford fosgate, sunroof and BBS. for 35K-39K, Just import one from Canada or get a low mile 2014. If not get the US FE for 30K then put 2K in recaro and pimp up everything else just my 0.2 cents.

That's a GSR. I don't want to get into an argument about whether it's worth it (I clearly decided it was), but the FE also has fast key, two piece brembo rotors, blacked out interior, black roof, HID headlamps, gloss grill, modified exhaust, Bilstein shocks, Eiback springs, sodium enclosed valves, higher HP, and a serialized plaque.
Some dealers do follow through on the cheap prices. Koons Ford In Va. gave me almost 7 grand (vs sticker) off my AWD DD fusion and well over $6K off my 14 mustang GT (which I got right when the completely re-designed 15's came out, kind of same situation EVO is in now). It was well worth the drive to go two states over for those deals.
I would think at this point, especially since the rest of the world thinks 2015's are two year old cars (no matter when the current EVO's were really built), that EVO's would be going for cheap. Maybe not, but I'd certainly be looking upwards of 300 miles away if the right deal came up.
It could be Mitsu dealers don't want to "give away" there EVO's due it being the only car people would actually come to the dealer to want to see.
I get it, it's a better more equipped EVO. It was put out there that you cannot get a new EVO for 30K. I just through out that at least one dealer advertises 31K.
