Thanks I'll give an email and see what they have to say! I've looked into that as well and looks very promising .

I don’t know if anyone will see this but if not i’ll repost on a different thread. So i have a 2008 Evo x MR pretty much stock besides the basics everyone does exhaust intake down pipe nothing crazy but i don’t have it tuned and would like to get it tuned. I’m in arkansas and if anyone knows about arkansas the car scene is almost non existent over here so i’ve been trying to find where i can take my evo to get a get tune to figure out where she’s at without having to travel 10 hours

e tune would be the way to go for the mods you have . Any of the above mentioned are great as well as Chet Rickerman for quality service and response time.

Chet has tuned my 14 MR to absolute perfection through a bunch of parts. Hit him up on facebook Rickerman Tuning and tell him what you want.

DO NOT get sucked into a COBB Access Port. I did, it was the worst thing I’ve done with the car. Getrag rates the DCT470 @ 346 reported torque, not at the wheels. Be aware, the SST is worth more than the car is.

This statement is absolutely untrue. They are $10k brand new from Mitsubishi or rebuilt for a fraction of that.

So...free labor? Mitsu quoted $22k for the replacement when I bought the car. Warned me about tuning, I had it tune 7 days after I got it home.

Nobody in their right mind uses the dealer to work on these cars.

Should be under 5k for rebuild and install labor.

You said it was 10k from Mitsu, do they provide discontinued parts less than they’re listed for? How many new ones do you think are left? Regardless, 10k wouldn’t get a new SST and have it installed. Rebuilds are cheaper, but there’s 3 reputable places in the US that do them and 1 in Canada.

I own one, I’m aware of what I got myself into, people like the person that I responded to, who doesn’t know anything about the car needs some hard truth before jumping in.

You can get OEM parts for less than MSRP from many places. If people don't, it's just them being unwise.

I understand that, but what you stated is borderline fear-mongering. Nobody in their right mind pays anywhere close to MSRP for anything. Giving people wise information is better than cookie cutter information, and definitely better than any "information" from a dealership.

I've been tuning SST equipped Mitsubishis for over a decade, been tuning Mitsubishis for over two decades and been on this forum for almost two decades.

I have zero need or appetite to continue to argue with you. Enjoy the forums.

You can get a built trans with 10 plate clutch and Dodson sump from Kozmic for ~$7k and it even comes filled with fluid and teach in completed. Just install and go. (source- I've done two for clients). If you go by book time, you'll get billed 9.8hrs at shop rate. Most Evo shops do a flat rate on trans/clutch installs though so if you pay more than $1k to install it, you're getting hosed.

It is expensive. BUT, consider a built 5 speed with all the options for a GSR is like $3k+ from like TRE or similar, and a good twin plate clutch is close to $2k, the price difference isn't "insane" per se.
