Fast key
Has anyone every had any problems with their FAST KEY?
I got into my car the other day and it said my battery was low...and now it's completely fine. Any thoughts on what is going on with it?

I have not replaced the battery in the fob. I went ahead and purchased some Energizer 2032s the other night as a just in case measure.
My '09 Lancer GTS used to yell at me that the battery was low as well, but the warning would come and go, so I was just curious if this is a common problem?

I just replaced my battery in my fob, because I was getting annoyed with it beeping at me. Changing it did not help my problem, it still says the battery is low with a brand new battery!

I do have 2 fobs...however, when the other one is no where close I wouldn't imagine it would pick it up...I guess it's possible. It does hang in the kitchen when I'm getting in the car that's in the garage. It's a good 15-20 ft away, with an aluminum door between though.
However, when I'm at work and the key is at home and it's still telling me the battery is low...I know it's not going to read a key that is 12 miles away.

I am currently having same issue. CR 2032 is a 3V battery, tested outgoing battery @ 3.02v. Incoming battery is 3.05v. Still shows the low battery consistantly.
2nd fob displays no issue so i know its not something with the car, I wonder if the fobs can just get weak RFID after a while or something. More research to come.

So i took my fob apart (for the 3rd time) and realized the contacts were a bit funky, also took a toothpick and cleared out as much lint/dust as possible.
Cleaned contacts and LIGHTLY pulled on them so they protruded farther out (ensuring a good connection to the battery)
PROBLEM FIXED!!!
Might also suggest very lightly lubricating the gasket with some non-oil based lube:

I've had that happen before, it ended up being a combination of the battery being low, and it being cold out, so the fob voltage would fluctuate enough to trip the warning sometimes, and be fine other times. Just replaced the battery and it fixed it.
