Engine light still comes on after O2 sensor spacer installed
Dear all,
I installed decat pipe for my evo x and spacer for the O2 sensor and the engine light still keep coming on after 2 or 3 days. I have changed the O2 sensor twice and it is the same. Any reason and suggestion? Thanks!

Thanks for the reply! The above pics are my current installation. I have not done any modification to the stock engine and the stock computer.
The engine check code that came up was P0420
Will the L shaped spacer solve this problem? If so, where can i get the L shaped spacer?
Thanks guys!
Victor
You can search "O2 spacer" if you want. Basically sometimes the spacer works.... sometimes it doesn't. Depends on the car. I know... weird. I had the same issue with mine. Only way to "fix" it would be a tune. Either way you're going to need one since you installed a test pipe.

Depends a lot on everything. Literally. I had the stock manifold/stock turbo, AMS downpipe and catless test pipe last year with a custom made L shaped spacer and the CEL used to play peek-a-boo with me. It would come & go for that code.
This year the car has a tubular manifold, different turbo, and a different tubular downpipe with the same catless test pipe and L shaped spacer. Never once got a code in 4000 miles as of yet, I even passed the OBD plug in emissions test this way with every single readiness emissions monitor set and happy.
I would try a J/L shaped spacer and go from there. It might work, it might not work but it's worth a shot. Mine is quite long since I custom made it.
