Hey guys, before you direct me to MAP's how to replace clutch PDF, i've seen it and followed it however I can't seem to get the transfer case out. I've pulled both driver and passenger side axle out of the T/C, removed all bolts attached to tranny (I found 5; 2 under the turbo, 3 at the bottom of car), but the transfer case just wouldnt budge no matter how much I "Shook up and down while pulling it towards the passenger side".. Any tips or advice?

 

Have you tried lifting the motor up slightly?

 

Or lowering the subframe

 

Not sure if the X is like the 8/9. but in the 8-9 you need to remove the intermediate shaft from the trans. Did you do that? See 2:40ish in this video.

 

I put a screw jack under motor. And lower subframe as far down on the bolts as i can get it. Then play with the engine height. While also prying the transmission toward the radiator. Its a bish and went it falls free its pretty heavy. Careful!

 

You missed a bolt on the tcase. There are a total of 6 hodling it to the trans. 3 on top, 3 on bottom.

Also, you need to remove the driver side stub shaft from the trans with a modded slide hammer.

 

Like the above said, i missed a bolt on top. For others reference: its not near the two top bolts, but rather id say in rear mid section of the Transfer case. The bolt goes all the way through the transfer case into the tranny.
